The Powell Peralta Bones Brigade 17th Series Steve Caballero 10.09 Skateboard Deck has arrived!
The Bones Brigade, aka the superhero team of skateboarding, featuring the legends themselves – Lance Mountain, Mike McGill, Tommy Guerrero, Steve Caballero, Tony Hawk, and Rodney Mullen – are back. Well, sort of. Their spirit is captured in 6 rad decks that are so iconic, even your grandma might ask for a kickflip tutorial.
Series 17 has a pearl white graphic, with foil* highlights. This isn’t just a reissue. It’s a time machine carved in seven plies of North American maple. Each board in the Series 17 collection channels raw energy straight from the streets, ramps and halfpipes of the ‘80s, when skateboarding wasn’t polished – it was punk!
Steve began skating in 1976 at the age of 12 and started his career at age 14. His first sponsor was Campbell Skate Park. In 1979, Caballero entered a national skate contest in Escondido, Ca. After finishing fifth place, he was approached by Stacy Peralta who offered him sponsorship with Powell Peralta and Steve joined the infamous Bones Brigade. He turned pro in 1980 during the Gold Cup series at the Oasis Skatepark, Southern California. By this time, Caballero had invented the ‘Caballerial‘, a skateboarding trick also known as the fakie 360 ollie. Caballero is also credited with inventing the frontside boardslide, backside boneless one, les twist and switch inverts…Steve continues to chase his dreams and is passionate about all the things life has to offer.
While skateboarding has been Steve’s lifelong love affair, there are many other aspects of his life that he cares equally about and where he is equally talented.
Explore his devotion to his Faith, family, art, music, interest in kustom kulture and motocross!
